How MushMonkey Vintage Got it's Name....

I always knew I wanted something I owned. Something that was all mine. Doing something I loved. Something that would make me want to get out of bed in the morning and say YES, I get to go to work today, well most days anyhow, I am human... I didn't know what exactly, though I had an idea. But before I could decide what, I had to decide on a name. Kinda like picking baby names before you know the sex of the baby....

I wanted something that meant something to me, but also something that would stand out, something that people would remember. Remember or at least hear and go "huh?" In my life, the huh usually stood out to me and stuck!

I toyed around with my name or my nickname at least, Lay is short for my real name, Elena. Some stupid names came like, Lay's Lovelies, Lanie's Loves, you know, bad ideas, along those lines. Along with things that had nothing to do with anything related to me or my life. Birds names, french words (I don't even know any french), silly things to make it sound fancy, serious.

One day I called both my kids by their pet names I gave them each as babies, in rapid fire, to get their attention. "Mush, Monkey, come down here please." and then it hit me. Like a frying pan to the face... MushMonkey. One word. Two capitals M's, one for each child. MushMonkey. I loved it. It was odd. It was personal. It was my life and my reason for having to buy "vintage" in the first place.

MushMonkey Vintage....

I had the name. Now what was I going to do with it....
